The Cathedral of Light is a church located in Farmers Branch, Texas. They needed a new steeple after their original one was struck by lightning.
Mooring Construction services was hired to renovate the church and provide them with a new steeple structure.
As a longtime partner, Mooring contacted Dallas Digital Signs and graphics to use our boom truck to pick the old steeple off the building and lift and place the new one.
First, Mooring construction personnel disattached the remnants of the old steeple from the churches roof, Dallas Digital personnel carefully attached lifting slings to the steeple, and using our 75' Freightliner boom truck, we pulled the steeple from the roof, and set it on Mooring's flatbed truck for recycling.
We then used our boom truck to carefully lift and place the new fiberglass steeple on top of the church. After precisely positioning the steeple, Mooring's workers mounted it securely to the structure of the church, and ran lightning arresting gear to a new copper grounding rod.
The Cathedral of Light now has a beautiful new high visibility steeple that draws attention to their church!

" In early August, 1985, the newly formed Community Church of Religious Science held its first Sunday service at the Wyndham Hotel on Interstate 35 in Dallas, Texas.
Under the leadership of Rev. Kay Hunter, founder and senior minister, the need for space for classes prompted the church to move to Community Drive and Northwest Highway in the Crossroads Shopping Center where it soon grew to rent an entire building. After 10 years in that location, renamed the metaphysical nondenominational church to Cathedral of Light, and the church bought a property in Carrollton, Texas, a community just north of the city of Dallas. Currently, the church is at 2570 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX.
The beautiful grounds and building provided a perfect space for worship and growth. It served our congregation for about 18 years. During that time this location also allowed the foundation and growth of The Saint Anthony School, a charter school dedicated to serving students with learning challenges. TSAS grew and prospered in this location until, in 2013, COL agreed to sell the property to TSAS.
We found our new location at 2570 Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch and began the project of repair and decoration. On June 30, 2013 we held our first Sunday Celebration Service in this location. In August 2013 we dedicated the building to God’s service at our 28th Anniversary Celebration.
Based on the teachings of the Master Teacher, Jesus, and other master teachers, and the principles of A Course in Miracles, Cathedral of Light became independent in the 1990’s and remains so today. We are a loving metaphysical nondenominational church family that welcomes people of all faiths to practice a joy-filled, peaceful way of life beyond all judgment."
