It’s just a sign, no big deal right?
Not to us it's not. Effective signage is the best possible investment a business can make. Unlike all other forms of advertising, signs provide 24/7 permanent, visible advertising. Signage is proven to be the best return on your marketing dollars for branding and building your company image. Most importantly, a well designed, properly located, sign will portray the positive image you want your company to have. As a business owner, you don’t want to lose customers on a misconception of the quality and capability of your business based on a simplistic, damaged or just poorly designed sign.
What type of Artwork do I need to provide?
Best case we should have your artwork in a “vector” or ” line” format in order to effectively scale and reproduce it. Files ending in .ai, .psd or .eps or .cdr are vector based. Files such as .jpg, .tif, or .bmp are not vector files; these files can be used, but they must be available in high resolution. Colors should be specified as CMYK, PMS or Pantone.
Artwork can be submitted on a CD ROM or DVD disc, or emailed to . If you prefer, we can send you a secure link to upload your files to our servers.
For fine art reproductions, it is best if the original artwork can be available for review and precise digital color matching during the proofing process.
Even if all you have is a low resolution image of your art– we can vectorize almost any artwork, even if we have to re-draw it. We will provide an estimate of any re-drawing that might be needed.
Do you provide proofs before starting work on my sign?
A proof is a way of ensuring that we have created your design accurately and that everything is positioned according to your requirements. Typically, we will produce a proof which will be sent to you online or printed on paper which can be viewed at our office or delivered to you in person. We do not start any project until we have received a signed proof from the customer.
What is the general turn around or Lead time to get a sign?
As all signs are custom and made-to-order, it is difficult to provide a standard turn-around time. Artwork, permits, location and production schedule can all have a significant time impact on any project. Listed below are some general guidelines that may help you in your planning process:
Monument signs: 3-4 weeks
Dimensional letter signs: 2-3 weeks
Illuminated signs: 2-3 weeks
Window graphics: 3-5 days
Real estate yard signs: 2-5 days
Digital prints: 2-3 days
Fine art reproductions: 1-3 days for proofs, 2-3 additional days for final prints
What’s the Bottom Line?
At Dallas Digital Signs & Graphics, we will work with you to create the best sign for your budget, and will advise you on the different options for materials up-front. We also will give you a final estimate before you order, and that estimate will not change (unless the order changes). This way you will know what you are getting and exactly how much it will cost before the project begins.
